I travelled recently to a coding conference,”CodingCon2014” as part of the Medical Business Systems exhibitor team. We had the pleasure of speaking to many billers and coders from a range of specialties that had travelled from all over the country. Their main purpose was to get up to speed on upcoming coding changes for 2015.
As physician billing software exhibitors, we had many questions about their current systems. There was the good, the bad and the ugly.
Many attendees were part of sizeable healthcare organizations, just the cogs in the very big wheels. They unfortunately had little to no say in choosing the software they were using.
Often it seemed the billing software was “an add-on” to the electronic health record (EHR) software that had been selected. While having one system for both the clinical and financial portions of a practice seems “simpler”, we heard about many of the billing side shortcomings that they were experiencing.
One very nice person said that in 2008 when they purchased their EHR, they were specifically told you had to have a combined software, that is was impossible to integrate two unrelated systems. Perhaps in 2008, that was correct.
I have good news, there’s a new sheriff in town. Iridium Suite Revenue Cycle Management Software is designed to integrate seamlessly with electronic health records systems via our Connectivity Clearinghouse.
Is the billing module of your EHR bad or downright ugly? Is it just good, not great?
Well the sales team at Medical Business Systems would love the opportunity to give you a glimpse of what your practice management system should be.Contact us today!
